CREN Partners with SourceRE to Provide Governed AI Access to MLS Data

November 2, 2026

The Colorado Real Estate Network will use the SourceRE MCP to give agents compliant access to CREN data through AI platforms like Chat GPT and Claude.

MONTROSE, CO — November 2, 2026 — The Colorado Real Estate Network (CREN), the regional multiple listing service for Southwest Colorado and the Western Slope, has partnered with SourceRE to deliver governed, fully compliant access to its MLS data through artificial intelligence. The connection covers the members of six REALTOR® associations across more than 17 counties, marking a broad area of MLS data coverage in Colorado.

Today, portals, aggregators, scrapers, and other third parties serve as intermediaries between AI platforms and MLS data. This limits the MLS’s ability to enforce its rules, protect its intellectual property rights, and control how its data is used. The SourceRE MCP instead establishes a governed, compliant pathway under the control of the MLS. It functions as a single, direct connection between an MLS database and AI platforms like Chat GPT, Claude, and Grok.

“We answer to six associations and the brokers and agents behind them,” said Jeff Follis, CEO of the Colorado Real Estate Network. “Letting AI reach our data through channels we don’t control was not something we could justify to any of them. This gives our members the tools they’re already reaching for, and it gives CREN a single place to set the rules for all of it.”

CREN is also partnering with SourceRE for governed data distribution. Through the SourceRE Data Marketplace, CREN can license its data to vendors, PropTech companies, and other approved consumers from a single managed environment, with onboarding, licensing terms, billing, and RESO certified API access handled in one place. Every feed distributed through SourceRE carries Data Dye™, SourceRE’s proprietary forensic tracking technology, which makes CREN data traceable at the source so unauthorized use can be identified and acted on. Together, the two services give CREN one governed pathway for its data whether it is being accessed by an AI platform or a traditional technology partner.

“We are proud to partner with CREN to shape the future of how AI and MLS data will interact, right in our home state of Colorado” said Andrew Coca, CEO of SourceRE. “AI is already using MLS data nationwide without the MLS. It’s our job to instead make sure it happens through the MLS, and on their terms.”
